Our History
Over 40 years ago, in 1982, a small, dedicated group of Yukon City Employees began an essential effort to help their less fortunate neighbors in the Yukon community by creating Yukon Sharing. In their first year of operation, this modest but powerful group collected clothes for those in need from local churches and community members. They began collecting the clothes and storing them in Nancy Stollsteimer’s garage, where families would come to shop. Five years later, the Wright Family offered a building, for free, in Town Plaza for the clothes storage and Yukon Sharing Ministry was officially formed as a nonprofit organization. They served just over 50 families in 1987.

How Can I Help?
Where does the food come from?
Some items are purchased, and other items are donated. We order food from the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and other suppliers. Bread, some dairy items, produce, meat, prepared food/prepackaged meals, and miscellaneous nonperishables are donated by businesses and community members.
What is the best way to contribute to the Food Pantry – cash or food?
Donations of cash or food are welcome. Cash donations give us some flexibility to purchase items we need and to take advantage of special purchasing opportunities.
